Sprinkler and Pre Action Protection

Sprinkler Protection Without Putting IT Equipment at Risk

Automatic sprinklers remain the most proven way to control fire in buildings. In data centres, the challenge is protecting the building without putting IT equipment at risk from accidental water release. DIS Fire designs, installs and commissions wet pipe sprinkler systems for support areas and pre action systems for data halls and other critical spaces, where water only enters the pipework once both detection and a sprinkler head have operated.

Building and Equipment Protection

Why Sprinklers and Pre Action

Reliable fire control with safeguards against accidental water discharge in critical spaces.

Proven Fire Control

Sprinklers control fire close to its origin and limit damage to the building.

Reduced Water Risk

Pre action systems keep data hall pipework dry until a genuine fire is confirmed.

Fully Monitored

Supervised pipework and monitored valves give early warning of leaks or faults.

Controlled Water Delivery

How It Works

Sprinkler heads operate individually in response to heat, with pre action systems adding a detection interlock before water enters the pipework.

Wet Pipe Systems

Pipework is charged with water at all times and individual heads operate only where heat is present.

Pre Action Systems

Pipework is held dry and supervised with air or nitrogen. A detection signal opens the pre action valve, and water discharges only when a sprinkler head also operates.

Integration

Valve sets, flow switches and pressure switches are monitored by the fire indicator panel for full visibility and cause and effect.
