How Does Foam Fire Suppression Work?
- Foam fire suppression systems work by discharging a foam concentrate mixed with water and air to create a foam blanket. This foam blanket effectively smothers the fire by isolating the fuel from the oxygen, cooling the heat, and suppressing any flammable vapours. Once discharged, the foam covers the affected area to prevent re-ignition and minimise damage. It is particularly suitable for high-risk environments like fuel storage areas, hangars, and manufacturing facilities.
